Apr-19 A gentleman has made contact with regards to researching the hstory of his Landrover which was originally owned by WareCreate in the early 1960s. The old registration number was 6231 UE (which sadly has been lost along the way). See recent photo below with current owner.

18-May-14 Lightweight Competition 2014
Scouts Win the District Lightweight Camping Competition. Well Done
Mar-13 Online Scout Manager - My.SCOUT Scout parents now have internet access to their sons and daughters Badge progress and term program. Good feedback so far
Oct-12 Scouts presented with their Badges Over the last month Scouts have been presented with a number of badges gained during competitions, nights away and yearly participation awards. In total 60 badges have been awarded, with a similar number expected to be completed during 2013.
07-Sep-12 Online Scout Manager This term Scout Leaders started to use an Online Scout Management System. The software was developed by Ed Jellard a Scout Leader in Southampton and a IT genius.  (https://www.onlinescoutmanager.co.uk/) Life is now so much easier with all our contact details, attendance records. program details, badge work in one safe and secure place. Hopefully in the next few months our Beaver colonies and Cub packs will join the system.

Friday and ALVAR Troop - Amalgamated
From January 2012, the two Great Amwell Troops will be amalgamated into one Troop meeting on Friday evenings.

Nov 2011 Anthony Dakin (ALVAR Troop Scout Leader) was awarded with his 40 year Long Service Award and certificate which had been signed by Bear Grylls our Chief Scout.
31-Oct-11 ALVAR Troop - 1st Birthday
On the 31 October ALVAR Troop celebrated its first birthday with a slide show of its achievements and a birthday cake
18-Jul-11 New name for Monday Scout Troop
On the last day of the Summer term, Scouts chose "ALVAR" as their new Troop name.
13-May-11 Three Scouts from the Monday Troop completed their Police - Community Challenge Award in May. They are the first scouts in Ware and District to be awarded this badge by the local Police team

Scout Troop return to St John the Baptist Church in Great Amwell for their Armistice Day Service and wreath laying ceremony (see History page).

Scout HQ Gets Tangoed
The inside walls of the HQ got tangoed in trials of a new colour scheme. Various colours including tango orange, were trialled in an attempt to find a colour, best suited to the rigours and demands of a continuously utilized facility.

Scout Raft Race
One of our two team achieved 2nd place in this year's Scout raft race.

Congratulations to 2nd Ware who have won the event for the 8th time in session.

One Scout team achieved 6th place in this year's District Swimming Gala.
Well done.

Scouts Welcome Founder Member
Scouts welcome two founder membersFounder Members of Great Amwell Sea Scout Group when they attended last Friday meeting as guests. Appropriately the evening had a Sea Scouting theme, with knots, lashings and raft building exercises Both gentleman joined the Sea Scouts when the group was first formed in 1941.

New Headquarters Update
The official opening of our new Scout HQ took place on the 13th January 2008  .

Progress of New Headquarters
The new HQ is in the final stages of being fitted out. All electrics and heating radiators are in place. Kitchen and Toilets almost complete. Not long to wait till the Grand Opening Ceremony.

Progress of New Headquarters
The new HQ is progressing well, with work on fitting roof tiles well underway. Inside the building, conduit and wiring progressing well.

New Headquarters
Great Amwell Scout Group is pleased to announce that after a lot of hard work we now have the funds in place to start building our new headquarters.  Work will commence on 25th June, with completion during the first part of the autumn term.
